Another battle in the war of liberty has been won.

By Dr. Robert Lowry, on Jun 19, 2010

Last week the Texas Republican Party had its State Convention in Dallas, where, among other items of business, the official Party Platform was developed and finalized.  At the close of a very long and drawn-out second day of debate, with perhaps as many as a third of the delegates already gone, there remained and stood a significant number of true grass-roots, liberty-minded first-time delegates getting the work of liberty done.  It was a truly heartening site to behold as for the first time in recent memory a renewal of the core values of what it means to be an American were witnessed in the workings of our party.  Instead of a few insiders using their leadership positions and tricks of procedure and rules to keep the grass roots voice of the majority silenced, the charge of liberty rang out, and refused to be quieted.  For those who were freshmen, frustrating as the process may have seemed to you in Dallas, your voices were heard, your efforts, your votes, did make a huge difference.  Through your active involvement, and your willingness to speak-up, from the precinct conventions forward, a true resurgence of the Party’s conservative libertarian roots have been embraced at least here in Texas, and the finalized platform is evidence of this renewed excitement and proper direction.

Our Time is Now

By Robert Abraham, on Jun 9, 2010

As many of you may know, the elections across the country have been very dramatic with a new generation of leadership replacing career politicians.  The time has come that we must do what is necessary for our families and our country.  It is imperative that we stand up and get involved in political campaigns and bring new representatives to Washington D.C. and here at home.  I will lead by example and that is why this week I am attending the Texas Republican Party State Convention in Dallas.  We can no longer sit on the sidelines while others who do not hold to our positions have power over our lives.  We must take a stand for our country and for our families.  This fall I am fully supporting http://CansecoForCongress.com who was my former opponent for the GOP nomination of the 23rd Congressional district, and I have been  working hard to help get him elected this November.  But this is only the start, we all need to keep active to make sure we elect officials who will do the right thing, from the courthouses, to the White House - and yes, even with our Party's officials.  Please never give up and always remember "eternal vigilance is the price of freedom." (Thomas Jefferson)

For Liberty, Dr. Robert Lowry

America Needs You! Please Vote.

By Robert Abraham, on Apr 12, 2010

To all my friends in Liberty,
The runoff election between Will Hurd and Francisco Canseco is tomorrow. Since the start of the runoff season both candidates have garnished some of the liberty and freedom voters, but it remains that there will likely be a small turnout Tuesday. It is my belief that we need to keep people aware of the process here, and I encourage everyone to tell their neighbors tonight that voting will be tomorrow. Also, both candidates have recently sent out a number of mailers claiming why you should vote for them (or against the other guy). Those mailers (from both candidates) contain material, comparisons, and/or statements which could potentially mislead fellow voters into thinking the other candidate holds a position on a key issue which is contrary to the truth of the matter. These take away from the true issues at hand. That someone has not signed a particular position request from every group under the sun, does not mean they are against the position, but as I can attest, there are literally hundreds of groups which want each candidate to sign their particular position statement forms, and many are requesting that a candidate promise he or she will not only take a stand on an issue, but want the candidate to follow a particular course in pushing that position, and frankly many of those “courses” are not in line with freedom and small government. Additionally, in some areas of this state only Democrats run for some local offices, so to donate to the least liberal person may still have you giving money to a Democrat. It is the reality we live with, but helps keep the most socialist people out of office.

I ask then, that every one of us look beyond the hype of these latest mailers, and examine them only as to what claims are actually true, recall what the candidates stated while out on the campaign trail, and prayerfully seek the truth in these matters.

Dr. Lowry Endorses Will Hurd in Run-Off

By Dr. Robert Lowry, on Mar 5, 2010

SAN ANTONIO, TX (March 4, 2010) --- Dr. Robert Lowry, who placed third with 22% of the vote in the recent Republican primary for the 23rd Congressional district seat, endorses Will Hurd in the upcoming primary run-off. A physician and local businessman, Dr. Lowry is endorsing Mr. Hurd because of shared beliefs in the areas of a smaller role for government, respect for Constitutional authority and a belief that the government shouldn’t become more involved in our healthcare system.

“Will represents the kind of new leadership we need in the U.S. House of Representatives,” Dr. Lowry said. “We need someone who will represent the interests of our district, not simply vote the party line. I believe Will represents the best chance for the Republican party to regain control of this seat, and I encourage my supporters to get behind him.”

Mr. Hurd responded to the endorsement saying he appreciates Dr. Lowry’s support. “Dr. Lowry ran a good campaign and I share and respect his views on many issues. It is my hope that we can unite the Republican party during this run-off in order to retake this seat in November. With Dr. Lowry’s support, I am confident I can do that.”

The Republican party primary run-off is April 13 with early voting starting April 5. All District 23 voters that did not vote in the Democrat party primary are eligible to vote in the Republican party primary run-off.
